New family member
"Introducing Snowball" Here's our new addition - nobody had wanted to buy him at Pets at Home so he was relegated to the adoption area where we spotted him and decided to give him a new home.   This is a potential christmas card option - not sure how happy Leo is with this though:  |

Stranded in Longformacus
 We have not made it into work this week at all due to the totally crazy amount of snow that has fallen. These pics are from Monday & it's just kept on snowing. Luckily I can work from home but it's a bit slower than working in the office. The roads are just unpassable just now & I can't see that changing before the weekend. On the plus side our boiler is still working - thank god the guy made the effort to come out last thursday as there is no way we could have stayed here...but with no way of getting out we would have had to rely on the kindness of neighbours..(Phil & Aileen as usual) who have already offered us a spare bed in the event of an emergency. On the not so good side our Sky is not working - so as we don't have an outside arial we can't even get normal tv. The guy from the Sky call centre in India helpfully suggested that we 'wait for the weather to clear up'...or 'he could call an engineer'. He couldn't comprehend that a. it might be like this for a while & b. no way an engineer could get out here. We even had the Duns police out on Tuesday - they had to borrow a 4x4 as the village is so cut off & they were just wanting to check on the residents. Luckily everyone is pulling together so that's quite good. ( Stranded in Longformacus ) |

I am back!!!!
After a long absence due to moving to the sticks & not being able to even obtain a mobile signal or god forbid internet. I have been able to post from alternate sources so I will at last be able to start posting all the months of photos I have been storing on my pc. These are the most recent ones of our trip out very early last saturday when we made ourselves get up even earlier than we have to get up to leave for work to try & capture the beautiful light in the mornings. Also a few of the house which we are just now starting to sort out. Even although we have not had any hot water or heating due to a dud new boiler (that we can't get anyone to take responsibility for or even get someone who is willing to come out to fix) for weeks & have to rely on neighbours for showers (thanks Aileen & Phil):)we have started trying to sort hang some of our pictures & make things look a bit more homely.
